Vincent is just over two weeks old and Edwin and I are happier than ever. We find ourselves taking turns holding him just to stare at his funny expressions and acrobatic baby-contortions. We know that all of his energy and personality at this point very well comes from making poo - but we are amused, none the less, "Hey, check out his fart-smile! It's so cute!" and, "Look how he stretches his little legs out and grunts! That must of been a big one!".
Edwin and I are so blessed to have a calm baby. Like clockwork, Vincent sleeps for three hours, fusses to be fed, has a diaper change and falls back asleep for the next three hours. It's been unreal - I am able to plan my day around three hour intervals and get so much accomplished. I know he is sound asleep; dreaming of shapes and colors and the good ole' days in mommy's tummy. Edwin and I keep thinking this might be a "phase" and he's going to start fussing more...asking to borrow money or drive the car. But no headaches thus far.
Vincent already knows how much he is loved. Many of our friends and family have stopped by to meet him. Although he pretty much sleeps through the visits, I think he sometimes fakes it and is secretly listening to all the compliments he gets (or it maybe it's those fart-smiles again). We are all looking forward to many more visits with everyone. I have a feeling Edwin and I might be those parents who make their kid tell jokes or dance for the guests - poor kid.
