Since Edwin left for a business trip to Norway on Friday, Vincent and I have been holding down the fort here at the house. Vincent has been busy smiling at mommy, crying at mommy and sometimes spitting-up on mommy. He's really become an active little guy; he's figured out that if he flails his left arm a certain way in his play gym, it makes the toy bird swing back and forth and if the music stops playing it means you have to cry. He's also creating new sounds from both ends.

You know how you always hear of babies "cooing"? Well not for Peanut. During the day he sounds like he's on a roller coaster - his voice starts out low and mumbling, then rises to a rhythmic "a-heee!" sound. The night time is when he does most of his "personal" work - constantly grunting and pushing poo. I once caught him pushing so hard his eyes crossed. It was then that I knew I had to remember these moments so I can share them with his future girlfriends.

Another milestone happened last night: Vincent slept his own room for the first time. Well, sort of "slept". More like intermittently "dozed". Vincent had been sleeping in his bouncer every night since he was born because it held him semi-upright and lessened the spit-up possibility. Now he's getting heavier and I was hoping to start getting him in a routine so I could one day possibly, hopefully, optimistically, be able to get more than three continuous hours of sleep. I have not been this sleep deprived since college. Now I remember why I consumed so much coffee back then - and coffee has since re-entered my life with a vengeance.

It's been busy but lonely without Edwin here. Vincent and I were so excited to get a visit from Aunt Rachel yesterday (well, I was excited - Vincent welcomed her with a fart and proceeded to fall asleep).
