Oh my goodness what a great week! Vincent is the best baby ever! (no, I'm not just sayin' that 'cause he's mine). I've been noticing his personality coming through over the past few days and I'm so excited!
I am finally beginning to feel comfortable taking him out to run daily errands with me; ie: make sure he is fed, make sure I have at least six to twelve ounces of formula, I have at least two diapers, a change of clothes and wet naps, buckle him into his car seat, carry the fifteen pounds to the backseat of the car, (do I need the stroller for this run? - if so. get the stroller into the back of the truck), will he need his tinky-toy?.... etcetera.. etcetera...
Since I've been taking him out more, I've noticed that people seem to flock to a baby carriage and want to take a look. "Oh my - what a beautiful baby!"
"Thank you so much"
"How old is he?"
"Four and a half months"
"What beautiful blue eyes!"
"Thank you so much"
What a baby brings to a day. I swear I've met these people before Vincent was born; but they don't seem to remember me. I've been in their stores, shared small talk, exchanged recipes and suddenly they don't remember me - but they loved Vincent.
So, every time a stranger leaned over his carriage and said, "Hello, handsome!" What did my boy do? He gave them the biggest toothless grin. That's my boy! What a happy baby. It's all smiles at our house!
Another funny story this week:
I've been diligent about keeping a "routine" for Vincent. During the day we have certain activities scheduled (gym-time, tummy-time..) and he also gets two long naps. I find that our days go by much smoother if we all know what to expect. Vincent's evening routine thus far is: in bed at nine in the evening (play music mobile) and wake at seven or eight in the morning (play music mobile again). For the past seven days, he's been sleeping throughout the night (whoohoo!). Edwin and I are rejoicing in the fact our little one is getting used to the schedule. I didn't think anything of it until...
Tuesday night: Edwin and I are watching TV. I notice the clock says "9:23 PM". "Oh jeez. Vincent is still in his play gym here downstairs. It's past his bed time"
I go over to him and had to laugh. Vincent had already "assumed the sleep position" within his play gym. Since he was born he sleeps in one position - always:
Then I knew he was getting used to his schedule. What a smart boy -

Edwin and Kristin,
Totally hilarious and so very cute. I love his sleeping position. I think he may have inherited that from me.
Love you guys.
