Vincent and I had a great time over at Abby's place yesterday. Those two are definitely gonna be good friends:

"Okay, Okay, mom: I'll sit still for the stupid camera. What was his name again?"

"Cool! I will protect Vincent from the cameras"

"Are we done here?"

Vincent had a wonderful week of learning new things: especially foods. Since we've started him on solids, the doctor recommended introducing him to new tastes on a schedule that will allow us to tell if he is allergic to anything (seriously? I mean, have you seen his parents? this kid should digest the meanest of anything). That being said, he has eaten each of the following foods for a least three days straight: sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and apple sauce. We are now on pears. The food critic has spoken: Vincent lerves sweet potatoes, carrots, and pears.

Although...

When I think of baby food, I think=apple sauce. I mean. really - apples (biblical) sauce (american favorite). What is there not to like? Apparently Vincent does not subscribe to this train of thinking. The first morning I introduced him to apple sauce, I was completely theatrical: "Someone's gettin' some app-awl sauce.. whoe's gettin' some app-awl sauce?... Vincent's gettin' some app-awl sauce... whoohoo!"

I might as well placed a steaming bowl of dung in front of the kid.

The first taste created a pucker... the second - a pondering look.. the third - a wail and a cry and a wail... oh my goodness call the paramedics.....he's hemorrhaging...

So, I cut the app-awl sauce session short and waited until Edwin came home that evening. "Watch, let me show you... you have to see this..." I gave Edwin the app-awl sauce and explained to him what to expect: "Seriously, he's gonna go crazy. I've never seen him dislike a food more than this.."

Oh - heck no ---- the kid freikin' loved it when DADDY fed it to him!

Now - we must past the taste test not only by distribution of Mommy but also Daddy.
